I'm writing my application for next semester's Davies Forum on Digital Literacy, and something occurred to me. Before my family got the internet in 1996, when I was ten years old, if I had questions or wanted information, I would ask one of my parents or look it up in the encyclopedia. I wonder what impact the internet has had on relationships between parents and children. It used to be that curious children had to ask people (parents or teachers, though in my case they were the same people), but now they don't even have to open their mouths. Google tells all. It would be interesting to study.
Also, why does everything take so much longer than I think it will? I need to learn how to focus.
